Preparing for Your Biometrics Session
Biometric data collection—encompassing high-resolution digital fingerprinting and live facial portraits—is a mandatory requirement for travel visa processing.
Biometric metrics are handled securely and transmitted directly to the respective diplomatic mission. Follow this guide to prepare for your biometric collection session.
Arrive Early at the Center
Arrive at the VFS Global center in Dhaka or Chittagong 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Walk-in slots are not available. Make sure to bring your printed Appointment Letter, original Passport, and Fee Receipts.
Complete the Pre-Gate Check
Staff will verify your Appointment Letter and Tracking ID at the gate. You will receive a token for the secure biometric capture booth.
10-Digit Fingerprint Scanning
Fingers will be scanned using a high-resolution electronic scanner. Finger tips must be free from cuts, injuries, henna (mehndi), or grease to ensure clean capture.
Facial Portrait Capture
A digital camera will capture a live portrait. Face margins, forehead, and ears must be fully visible. Hair and clothing should not obscure facial features.
Automatic Data Deletion Protocol
Your biometric metrics are transmitted securely to diplomatic servers on the following business day and permanently deleted from our localized servers immediately after transmission.
